Opinions that tho tax at present imposed on smaller racing clubs in New Zealand is grossly unfair and that it is killing them were expressed at tho aunual meeting of the Wairoa Racing Club. It was decided to write to the Minister of Internal Affairs asking that smaller clubs bo given some relief and suggesting that the position mignt Do met by the adoption of a system that in cases where £IO,OOO or Jess is put through the totalisator the first £SOOO be free of taxation.
