Pigs and Poultry

The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports a good yarding of all classes of pigs at their weekly pig fair held on Saturday. There was a keen demand for best weaners and good heavy stores and porkers with only a medium demand for poorer sorts. Realisations were as follows: —Small weaners, 11s, 12s Gd, l-ls; better weaners, from 15s to 20s Gd; slips, 18s to 225; stores, to 275; porkers, up to 365. There was also a particularly heavy demand for poultry, a largo yarding being present with a very keen bench of buyers. Realisatous were as follows:—White hens, 0s to Ss; black hens, 7s to 3s Od; cockerels, 7s to 12s; ducks, 5s to Ss; pullets, 0s to 10s, all prices being per pair.
