From Our Own Correspondent. Valedictory. Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Could, who are leaving Bulls at the end of the month, were tendered a farewell by the Bulls Tennis Club and the Bulls branch of the Plunket Society respectively. Mr. N. it. Amos, captain of the tennis club (in the unavoidable absence of the president) expressed the regret of members at losing one of their most active players and aftei wishing Mr. and Mrs. Gould success in their new home, presented a fountain pen to Mr. Gould a 3 a mark of esteem and a memento of many happy days spent on the local courts. Mr. Gould suitably responded. Members of the Plunket Society gave an afternoon to Mrs. Gould at the residence of the president, Mrs. A. T. J. Shaw, who said that all were sorry to hear Mr. and Mrs. Gould were leaving them, but they would carry with them the best wishes of all. Master Mtoimei Shaw handed a boiuiuet to Mrs. Gould, and Mrs. Wilson, after thanking Mr. and Mrs. Gould for the many favours which they had extended to the tc the visiting nurse, asked Mrs. Gould to accept a reading lamp, and a small gift for Master Graham Gould. Mrs. Gould briefly replied. Afternoon tea was served, and a competition was won by Mrs. Signal. The gathering concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Gould for the assistance which he had given to the society over a period of years. Personal. Mr. W. B. Clark, of Wellington, some years back carried on a successful business in Bulls. Ho is now on a short visit here, renewing old friendships. Miss Clark is also visiting Bulls, both staying with Miss Bailey, Ohakea, • JMr. C. L. Hunter, M.P. (Levin) was in Bulls during the week-end. Mr. H. J. McManaway (Wellington) is visiting the town. Messrs. T. W. Bichardson. C. McCarthy and A. A. Richardson, of Foxton, spent the week-end with friends at Bulls. Mr. C. H. Edwards motored to Auckland for the week-end. On Saturday evening a motor-cyclist, with his wife riding pillion, came to grief on the Bulls bridge, the latter receiving slight cuts and numerous bruises. On Sunday a motor-lorry fouled a wireless aerial which collapsed, striking a lady and child who haa to receive medical attention. On Friday evening “Apa House,” Parewanui, was crowded with dancers anti card players, and an appreciable sum was raised for the Parewanui School. Messrs. W. Hart and L. Sanson acted as M'sG. and everything went oft' smoothly. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss N. Young and Mr, Jack Klatt, a novelty dance by Mrs. J, Montgomerie and Mr. J. Crosland, and a. competition by Master Bob Jua. Mrs. Turner and Mr. Jack Bromley Jr. were winners at cards and the consolation went to Mrs. Harris and Mr. Bracken Jr Rangitikei Rifle Club. Owing to unsettled weather tho match ivith Cheltenham was postponed on Saturday, but* club members fired a practice. Tho weather took up to make good shooting conditions and riflemen again rollea on some tall scores. Following are the detailed results over 300, 000 and t>ou yards: H. Meads 31, 35, 33, 102; K. Owing to counter attractions the attendance was poor for tho weekly shoot on Monday night. L. Huddleston tvas in good form, returning a double header, whilo JR. McKenzie and C. M. Broughton each scored a single possible. The club will go to Awahuri on Wednesday night to shoot off the final of the Cliffo aim
