pigs and Poultry
The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports a capacity yarding of pigs at their weekly pig fair held on Saturday, with a very keen bench of buyers present. A complete clearance of over 400 pigs was made and prices realised in the majority of eases were satisfactory to sellers. Weancrs wore in extra keen demand, with one good lino of 12 weaners realising 22s each. Stores and porkers were also keenly sought after. Realisations were as follow:
Small weaners, from Us to 15s;..best weaners, 16s to 225; slips, 18s to -<B2sj stores up to 2Ss; porkers up to 30s, There was-also a particularly good; demand for poultry, with a large number yarded, all lines being cleared at prices which were holding well on the previous week’s realisations. Prices wero as follow:
White hens, from 5s Od to 7s' Sd; black hens, 0s Od to Ss Od; cockerels, 7s to 12s; ducks, 5s Od to Os. All prices at per pair.
