Famous Golfers to Visit Hokowhitu To-day
Gene Sarazen, ex-world champion golfer, and Helen Hicks, American Ladies’ amateur champion, who are now visiting the Dominion, will play an exhibition match at the Hokowhitu links, Palmerston North, this afternoon, commencing at 1.30 p.m. The match will be followed by a lecture and demonstration. The opportunity of seeing these world-famous golfing stars in play affords a rare and hrilling experience to all those interested in the game. The gate charges are as advertised.
AERO CLUB. On Saturday a Stableford bogey competition was played and though conditions were not • ideal, the players thoroughly enjoyed the games. The results were: —Stallard 32, Stiles 31, Mills 30, Richards 30, Thorburn 20, Child 28, Fairey 26, Palmer 2-1, Rainforth 23, Low 23, Mrs Hancox 18. The final round of tho Rosco cup competitions will commence on Saturday and all cards must be returned by the 20th. The draw is as follows: — Ladies: Mrs Goodwin plays Miss Harwood; Mrs llancox plays Miss Gaustad. Men: Stallard plays Eainforth; Palmer plays Bennett; Stiles plays Thorburn; Heggie plays Mills; Godfrey plays Child; liancox plays Fairey; Lo,v plays Richards.
