Tile Ohakea branch held its monthly meeting oil Tuesday last when there was a good attendance. The competition winners proved to be Mrs. W. Robinson 1 and Mr. A. V. Matthews 2. A quantity oi warm, useful clothing made by members will he forwarded to tlio Wellington City Mission, it was decided to hold a dance and flag, five hundred evening to augment the local hall funds on August 2S. The half yearly group meeting will be held In the local hall cn August JS. when there will be a short talk oil "Gardening,” and the local girls will stage their pretty and successful play, “July Wedding.” An item will be contributed by each member of the group, the usual ciiarge being made for admission. Next month’s competition will take the form of the prettiest coat hanger and a bring and buy stall will be held. Rifle Shooting. The practice shoot of the rifle club was well attended and scores were good. Single possibles were scored by H. Ellery, G. Robinson ar.d N. Leet. The weekly competition was won by N. Leet and S. Quinlan with G. Robinson and J. Ellery runners-up. The scores were as follows: G. Robinson 69, 70. 139; N. Leet 68, 70, 138; P. Ellery 67, 69, 136; F. Simpson 67, 69, 136: W. Klatt 67, 68. 135: S. Quinlan 67, 68, 335; H. Ellery 70, 64, 134; J. Simpson 64. 69. 3 33; W. Robinson 63, 69, 332; J. Frocklingtoii 61, 67. 133; J. Wightman 63. 66, 129; C. Hartley 61, 67. 128; J. Ellery 67, 60, 127; D. Eilery 65. 62, 127; G. Richardson 62, 62, 324; P. Cole 62, 61, 123; E Quinlan 55, 64. 119; L. Simosoh 58, 59, .117. Personal. The friends of Mrs. K. Bailey will regret to learn she is confined to bed with an attack of pleurisy. Mr. E. H. Lange visted tho school redently and distributed prizes won In the recent agricultural club competition. The recipients were Lindsay Vilo and Ken Mullin. There are big entries from the school for the coming season’s competition.
