Hide and Sheepskin Sale

We held our usual salo of hides and sheepskins on 7th inst., at Wellington, offering a medium selection of sheepskins and an attractive show of hides, report Muh-ay Roberts and Co., Ltd. The sale of sheepskins was inclined to be erratic, but there was a keen demand for full-woolled and sound pelted lots, and iu general the sale was in sellers’ favour. A satisfactory movement took place in the prices bid for ox and cow hides, in both cases tho light and medium sorts firmed, while the heavy lots showed an improvement of 3d to Id, An advance of Jd to Id was also recorded for yearling and kip. Calf were a shade easier. Our range of prices is as follows: — Dry sheepskins: Half bred, 9Jd to 113 d; fine crossbred, SJd to lid; medium crossbred, BJd to 104 d; coarse crossbred, 7ld to 9Jd; half wools, 7i<l to 10d; quarter wools, 4d to Sjjd; pelts, 61 d. Salted skins: Three-quarter wools, 7s 6d; full wools, 7s Gd. Hides: Ox, 331bs. to 441b5., 5 1-Sd to 5 5-Sd; 451bs. to 521b5., 6d to 6Jd; 53lbs. to 591b5., 6|d to 7d; 601bs. to 691b5., 6 7-Sd to Sid; 70lbs. and over, 6 5-8 dto 8 3-Sd. Cow, 33lbs to 391b5., 5 1-Sd to 5.3 d; 401bs. to -ISlbs., 5 1-Sd to' 5 7-Sd; -Ifllbs. and over, 5 I-8d to 6 1-Sd. Kip, 25lbs. to 321b5., 51d to 6-Jd; 17lbs. to L’llbs., 7§d to S 3-Sd.
