A very deep and extensive depression has moved with unusual rapidity across the Tasman on to New Zealand, the pressure falling as low as 28.47 inches in the extreme soutih to-day. Winds:. Strong to gale generally and in places reaching heavy gale force; southerly in the jouthern portion of the South Isla-id, else vnero northwesterly to westerly but southe-lies extending over the Dominion within the next 24 hour *. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough to high. Eastern Tasman Sea: Westerly gaffisat first in the northern portion but south-westerly to southerly gales soon becoming general; seas high. Weather: Stormy with general rair, many heavy falls and considerable Hooding beng probable moro especially in the western areas. Temperatures: Becoming very cold with snow on high levels and hail in places.
