Sunday Rail Traffic Disorganised
DERAILED VAN AT PAEKAKARIKI Railway traffic between Wellington and Palmerston North was badly disorganised last evening by the derailment at Paekakariki of a milk wagon attached to the north-bound excursion train. The van was being shunted when it came to grief at tho main points at the north end of the station. Normally the Wellington to Palmerston North excursion train arrives in Palmerston North about 9 p.m. but, owing to the hold-up delaying the Wel-lington-Auckland Limited express, preference had to be given the latter train once the line was dear. It was not until 1.30 this morning, however, that the Limited arrived in Palmerston North. Tho excursion train was not expected until about 2.30 a.m.
