From Our Own Correspondent Personal. Mr. Pat Spring, who has been holidaying with his parents, has returned to Taranaki. Mr. U. Welch was a recent guest or Mr. J. iiarnes. Miss M. Payne and Miss I. M. Spring o£ this district, are members of the Bush ladies’ hockey team now touring the Wanganui, Tarana-ki and Manawatu districts. , Mr. .T. P. Petersen, of A tea, had the misfortune to severely strain an ankle while witnessing a football match at .Marima. ~ ~ Mr. it. Eagle, of the Nireaha football team’ is at present off duty with a badly strained wrist. Mrs. Cluis. Boss is at present away on holiday. Bible Class. The fortnightly Bible class meeting was not well attended, but those who were present enjoyed a good 1 discussion. Arrangements tor a coming rally were finalised, and this function promises to be successful as several neighbouring classes have intimated their intention of being represented. Rev. Mr. Hindmarsh, ot Eketaliuna will officiate at the rally. Card Evening. The recent card evening held at the school drew an attendance of about sixty enthusiasts. These evenings are very popular and should prove a. good souice of revenue to the local school committee, prize winners for tho evening wee. Bailies Mrs. B. K. Rossitter (after tying with six others), Mrs. Woodley consolation; men. Mr. if. Eagle, Mr. R. J. Daniel consolation. . Football. On Wednesday evening a team representing the Eketaliuna High School played a Ix'ireaha team on tile local domain and after a close game was beaten by lb points to 10. The High School boys displayed good combination, but could not hold out against their heavier and more experienced opponents. The High School team was playing under the management of Mr W. itendei'scni. Mr. Chas. (loss had charge of the local team. Both teams were entertained to afternoon tea at the conclusion ot tile match. The A'ireaha juniors fielded a _ muchweakened team against Marima in their recent game and were defeated by R points to nii. Plunket Society.

V vci v enjoyable social ailernoon was held at Nireaha recently. There was a good auemlance, threo car mans ot members and mends attending from Eketanuna. Mrs. A. Holder welcomed Urn visitors. Alternoon tea was provided by A (realm members, Mrs. Albrcciitsen (president; presented the prizes and also thanked the a ireana representatives ror organising the alternoon, and expressed pleasure at the good attendance. In a Bryne Shield shoot against Makomako at Nireaha, Nireaha’s total ot 903 was 17 points ahead of Makomako’s total. With three shoots fired for the shield Nireaha have a load of nine points from Makamako. For Nireaha, N. C. Petersen scored a possible and for Makomako J. Sargent and J. Day dropped.a point each.
