The Egg Market
The wholesale price of first-grade hens’ eggs is Is lid a dozen. The market is distinctly easier. Production is good for this season of the year. A factor this week is the supply of country eggs brought into town by show visitors. The previous four weeks’ quotations have been 2s 2d, 2s sd, 2s Gd, and 2s lid a dozen. AUSTRALIAN PRICES POULTRY AND EGGS Hens, coloured, 3s Od to 4s Od a pair; whites, 2s 9d to 3s 3d; pullets, 3s to ss; cockerels, prime 7s to Bs, medium 5s to os, small 3s to 5s Od; English ducks, 2s Od to 3s; Muscovy ducks, 3s Od to 4s; drakes, 4s Od to 0s; turkeyhens, Ss to 10s; gobblers, 12s Od (o 22s Od; geese, as to 0s; pigeons, 9d to Is; guinea fowls, 3s to 3s Od; ducklings, Od to 2s Od. The Queensland Egg Board quotations are:—First grade Is 9d a dozen, second Is 7d, third Is 6d.
