SOCCER CONFERENCE

MEETING IN LONDON AUSTRALIAN PROPOSALS tho recent unanimous decision of tho council of tho New Zealand Football Association to support the suggestion of tho Australian Soccer Pootball Association that tliß English F.A. should convene a meeting of Dominion associations in London to discuss the furtherance of the game in the British Dominions, the secretary of the Australian Association (Mr. Druory) has stated that the suggestion was that the conference in London should consist of a representative from each of Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, India, and Australia

Tho English Football Association and tho other Dominions had been circularised and replies of an encouraging character had already been received from Canada and South Africa.

In the past the English Football Association had given help to the Dominions. There had been a grant of £SOO to Australia, and another of £IOOO to Canada. It was felt that tho proposed conferenco could devise some adequate plan for the development of the game in the Dominions. It might be possible, for example, to arrange visits by British teams to Australia at regular intervals, or visits of Dominion sides to England. Mr. Druery added that other Dominions had representatives on tho Football Association council in London. Australia had not been so represented since the death of Mr. A. E. Gill a few years ago.
