Local Jottings
Two very. busy borough gardeners wero making good use of the beautiful weather experienced in Pahiatua yesterday. Fallen leaves wero being picked up, the roso beds dug over and the borders trimmed. Two beautiful holly bushes aro looking at their best. They aro covered with their round, bright red berries. The Bank of New Zealand is having its coat of cream paint and looks well, also the Pahiatua public library. Tho new post office foundations are in and now the steelwork is being constructed and put into place. The barometer reading at 5 pm. yesterday was 29.7, temperature 52 deg. Fahrenheit. The day in Pahiatua was fine and tho barometer has a rising tendency.
