Squally and Cold Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A rather vigorous depression of the westerly type has been crossing jthe Dominion to-day, while an anti-cyclone extends from Australia over the North Tasman Sea on to the northern districts. Winds: Westerly at first north of Farewell Spit and Ivaikoura; southwesterlies thence southwards and extending shortly over most of the Dominion. Moderate to strong generally and of gale force at places. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough on the west coast and off shore south of Castlepoiut, moderate north of Castlcpoint but rising off-shore. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong south-west winds with rather rough to rough seas. Weather: Changeable and squally with showers in most districts; hail probablo on parts of the coastal areas of the South Island and snow on the ranges. Temperatures cold.
