A posy of berries and autumn tinted foliage was presented, to Mrs. W. Irwin, on tho occasion of the 27th anniversary of her wedding, which fell on W.I. day. The Dominion secretary advised that tho remit sent In by Opiki W.I. to be considered at the Dunedin conference arrived too late, thus necessitating its exclusion from the agenda. Nominations were then called, for a representative to act on behalf of the Institute at the conference to be held in Dunedin next month. Mrs. J. A. Cooksley will be the Opiki delegate to this gathering. Mr. A. Seifert gave a very interesting travel talk on his visit to the East some years ago. Probably the majority of those present will not have the opportunity of travelling overseas, so that his word pictures of people in other lands .enabled them to gain intimate glimpses of life in India, Ceylon, Burma and Java. Mr. Seifert was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The president expressed the appreciation. of tne members to Mr. Seitert who came out to Opiki through the flooded road.
