From Our Own Correspondent. There was a distinct improvement in the shooting at the weekly practice shoot on Monday. Two single possibles were recorded by E. Simpson and N. Leet. The trophy donated by C. Klatt was finally won by J. Frecklington. The scores were: H. Ellery 69. 69, 138; W. Klatt 69, 68, 137; N. Leet 66, 70, 136; G. Itobinson 68, 68, 136; E. Simpson 67, 69, 136; W. Kobinson 66, 69, 135; P. Ellery 67, 67, 134; E. Simpson 70, 64, 134; Ees Ellery 67, 66, 133; J. Frecklington 61, 68, 129; S. Quinlan 63, 66, 129; J. Ellery 64, 61, 125; C. Hartley 53, 58, 111; J. Wightman 66. .
The Ohakea Club team shot the first competition shoot against Sanson at Sanson on Friday when the Ohakea A team ■defeated Sanson 107.8—1059. H. Ellery and N. Leet both shot well for this team. Sanson M.M.R.A. team defeated Ohakea 794—777.
The following teams will represent Ohakea Club at Feilding in the Jones five-a-side tournament and Collinson Shield competition. Jones team: W. Klatt, N. Leet. P. Ellery, F. Simpson; Collinson team: S. Quinlan, W. Robinson, G. Robinson, J. Ellery, Des. Ellery.
j The Ohakea juniors were again sue- ! cessful on Saturday when they defeated ■ Oroua Downs by 19—6. Tries for Ohakea were scored by Woolford (2), Ingram and P. , Ellery. Teko kicked a lair goal I while Hazlewood converted a try. Mr. W. Klatt has returned after a short stay at Marton. Mr. and Mrs. H. Ellery spent the weekend at Masterton.
Steady rain fell on Tuesday, this bringing to an end the long succession of frosts and clear days. Over half an inch was registered by 9 a.m. on Wednesday, but the weather has now cleared.
