Ping Pong in Pahiatua
FORMATION OF MAYFAIR CLUB. A Electing of ping-pong enthusiasts was held in the Mayfair hall on Friday night and as a result it was decided to form a club to be known as the Mayfair Ping Pong Club. The election of officers resulted as under:—Patron, Mr S. Judd; president, Mr E. P. Badger; vice-presidents, Dr. E. B. Watson and Messrs F. Cosford and G. G. Hill; lion, secretary, Mr M. Cosford; hon. treasurer, Mr G. F. Parkes; auditor, Mr L. D. Lovelock; committee, Messrs E. Lett, J. Swanney, J. Broughton and Misses J. Petersen, M. Fletcher and P. Fox and officers; club captain, Mr King. Subscriptions were fixed, at 2s Cd for men and Is 6d for ladies, with a nightly playing chargo of 6d. Messrs M. Kershaw and A. Jones offered to lend the club bats and nets for uso during the year, and were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr Lett was deputed to build a suitable table for uso next week. The opening night lvas fixed for Friday night next week at 7.30 p.m., and play will continue to 10 p.m. each week. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to Mr Judd for the uso of his premises.
