Mangaweka Bank Theft
ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, June 10. Maurice Edward Alexander, bank idler of Mangaweka, aged 33, who was charged yesterday at Mangaweka with tho theft of £7500, the property of the Bank of New Zealand, appeared on remand this morning before Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M., aud was further remanded to appear at Taihape on June 19th. Mr W. C. Bainbridge asked for bail, stating that the whole of the money hau been handed back by the accused. The Police offered no objection and the Magistrate said that under the circumstances he would fix it i t self £2OO and a similar surety. .Accused is to report daily to the Police at Mangadwka.
