Platinum Wedding Celebrated At New Plymouth
Sixty-five years of happy married life wcro completed ou Friday by Mr and Mrs Itobert Coleman, of New Plymouth, when they celebrated their platinum wedding. Mr Coleman, who is SS years old, and Mrs Coleman (nee Ann_Knott), 86 years old, were married at Westbury, Wiltshire, England, on May 22, IS7I. They left England in ISSf for Australia and were in Queensland and Victoria for nino years, sailing then for New Plymouth, and have resided there since. Soon after their arrival Mr Coleman entered into business as a builder and contractor. Ho served some time as a member of the New Plymouth Borough Council, and with Ins son, Mr F. A. Coleman, and several others, laid the foundation of what is to-day the East End Eeserve. Mr and Mrs Coleman were recipients of many congratulations. Surviving members of the family arc Mr Arthur John Coleman (Auckland), Mr F. A. Coleman (New Plymouth), Mr W. K. Coleman (Palmerston North), Mrs McKeo (New Plymouth), and Mr Charles Coleman (New Plymouth).
