Church Members Farewell Mrs. H. L. Richards

In order to farewell Mrs H. L. Richards on the eve of her departure for Waimate and to offer their good wishes for her future happiness, members of Cuba Street Methodist Church and friends met at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghamo’s on Friday afternoon. Mrs P. J. Metier presided over an attendance of about 35 ladies. A warm welcome to those present was extended by Mrs T. It. Iloddcr, who said it was with deex> regret that they were farewelling Mrs Kichnrds. After afternoon tea had been enjoyed Mrs Meller presented Mrs Richards with a crystal salad bowl and a cut-glass powder bowl, conveying the sincere good wishes of thoso present. Feelingly expressing her thanks, Mrs Richards urged the members to bo loyal to her successor. She stated that her sojourn in 'Palmerston North had been very happy, and she had made many friends. Tho gathering concluded after each member had conveyed her personal farewell.
