FEILDING defeat scots COLLEGE The annual cricket match between the first elevens of tho Feilding Agricultural High School and Scots College (Wellington) was played at .'Feilding yesterday. The match opened at 4.30 p.m. on Thursday and concluded shortly after noon yesterday with victory for the local boys. College opened and at stumps had lost seven wickets for 06 runs. King, captain of tho visiting side, was unfortunate enough to receive a nasty cut on his chin and lip from a ball that glanced off his bat, but he gallantly played on to contribute 26. Tho bowling was very keen and Hollard, Wells and Dewe shared honours, Dewe esepcially showing his merit by gaining four wickets for nine runs. Weather conditions were still against the teams on Friday but the match reopened tat mid-day when College went on to increase their score to 79. School opened on a saturated pitch. At first their play was cautious but it gradually opened up, Thurston getting well into his stride, smashing tho ball in every direction with two hits clearing tho racecourse fence. After six almost consecutive fours he retired with the score of 57 to his credit. Time was called at 2.20 p.m., School leaving the field with a total of 129 and three wickets in hand. SCOTS COLLEGE. Advice was received last evening by the Feilding Cricket Association from the Southern Hawke’s Bay Association intimating that they were unable to fulfil the engagement for the High School representative match set down for to-day. In consequence of this the Feilding committee advises that the competition games, will continue to-day. The senior matches which opened last week, namely, Colyton v. Feilding and Public Service v. Old Boys, will be continued this afternoon. The B grade fixtures for to-day are as follow:—High School A v. Feilding B, Park No. 3; Wesley v. High School B, Park No. 4.
