Coastal Pilot Censured
GROUNDING OF TANKER ON AUSTRALIAN COAST United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Friday, 10.30 p.m. BRISBANE, Mar. 27. As a result of an inquiry into the grounding of the tanker Vardaas, the Marine Board severely censured a coastal pilot, J. W. Friend, for having failed to satisfy himself, as opportunities occurred, that the course he intended to steer was being strictly adhered to.
