ANNUAL CONVENTION CONCLUDED In the concluding stages of the IV omen’s Christian Temperance Union at Auckland, reports discussed and adopted included Bible-m-Schools, babbath observance, evangelistic, home meet ings, notable days, cradle roll, also work among seamen. A talk dealing W 1 1 accidents and deaths caused by liquor was given by Miss Appleby, and a resolution was carried urging tho Government to legislate so that “when a motorist has boen convicted twice of intoxication while in charge of a motorvehicle, his licesso to drive should bo cancelled for 10 years.” A further resolution urging upon unions the advisability of approaching local authorities when drinking' is knows to take place in local dance halls, was carried. Dominion officers' elected were: President, Mrs Hiett; recording secretary, Miss Kirk; corresponding secretary, Mrs Mitchell; vice-president, Mrs Paterson; treasurer, Miss Lovcll-Smitk.
