Stores Eagerly Bought at Addington

VERY HEAVY ENTRIES. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Entries at,the Addington market today were again very.heavy-, there being close on 4i),000 store ewes and lambs forward. Store lambs sold keenly, there being a alight improvement on last week. The best sold to 2Ss and average sorts from 215 to 235. About 30,000 ewes wero penned, mostly fail-ing-mouthed. .There was keen sale with part of last week’s drop recovered. Two-tooths made to 36s 6d and four and five-year fine wools to 255. Considering the quality the market was a shade better than the recent fairs. The entry of fat sheep was again a large one, comprising 5000 head. The market was easier by a shilling to la Gd. Good wethers mado from 25s to 29s and medium from 22s to 245. Good ewes sold at 20s to 245, and light from 14s to 16s. There was less competition from exporters. The entry of fat cattle comprised 400 head and there was an improved sale by 10s a head for best sorts. The top price was £l4 2s 6d for a West Coast truck lot. Good steers ranged from £lO to £l2 and best heifers and cows from £7 to £9. Best beef averaged from 27s to 29s per 100 lbs., and medium to good from 24s to 25s 6d. Fat pigs were forward in fewei numbers than usual and the sale was an improved one, there being a fail amount of competition from export buyers. Baconers sold at from 4Jd per lb. to s£d, and porkers at 5Jd to 6.}d.
