Refused Ex-soldier a Job
COMPANY FINED UNDER N.S.W. ACT. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, Mar. 24. A theatre company was fined under the Returned Soldiers’ Preference Act for rejecting the application of a returned soldier for a post as commissionaire. Commercial interests may be affected widely by the decision, which emphasises the application of the Act to private employers whereas previously its powers were seldom used except against local authorities.
