Tennis Match. On Saturday last the Makomako team visited the local courts and owing to their only being able to bring a B team were defeated by 4 sets to 2 and 32 games to 52. Scores were as follow: — Ladies’ singles: Mrs Udy defeated .Miss Sonnlag 6—l, Miss Cavanagh defeated Miss Uroves 6—5, Miss Laurence defeated Mrs Ebbett 6—2, Miss A. Laurenco lost to Mrs Eddie 5—6. Men’s singles: Messrs It. L'dy defeated G. Atkinson 6—3, W. Twentyman defeated H. Corkhill 6—2, Rex Udy defeated J. Gariick 6—3, W. Hirst lost to G. Bay 5 — 6,

Ladies’ doubles: Mrs L'dy and Miss Cavanagh defeated Misses Groves and Sonntag 6—4, Misses A. and A. ft. Laurence defeated Mcsdames Ebbct and Eddie 6—5. Men’s doubles: Messrs It. Udy and W. Twentvman defeated G. Atkinson and H. Corkhill 6—o, Rex Udy and W. Hirst defeated G. Bay and J. Gariick 6—2. Mixed doubles: Mr and Mrs R. Udy defeated Miss Sonntag and G. Atkinson 6—3, Miss Cavanagh and W. Twentyman defeated Miss'R. Groves and H. Corkhill 6—l, Miss Laurence and Rex Udy defeated Mrs Ebbett and J. Gariick 6—2, Miss A. Laurence and W. Mr Atkinson spoke words of thanks and congratulation on behalf of the Makomako Club, and expressed the hope that their stronger team would be available when Hukanui travelled to Makomako.
