Six Years Over Century
AND STILL HALE AND HEARTY .Per Press Association. TIAIARU, Last Night. Air Patrick Lucas Hamilton, who resides near Pleasant Point, South Canterbury, celebrated what ho claimed was his 106th birthday on Tuesday. Air Hamilton, who is still halo and hearty, has retained his faculties to a surprising degree. His hearing is almost unimpaired while ho is still able to read. Air Hamilton was born in County Donegal, Ireland, on St. Patrick’s Day iu the reign of William IV, and came to New Zealand in 1870, landing at Lyttelton. Soon afterwards he went to Waitoti, near Temuka, and then shifted to the present property, where he had resided ever since.
