London Bus Has Sea Trip
Qjm of the old pre-war London buses will be featured in Vancouver’s Golden Jubilee celebration this year, and will be brought fioji England by way of the Panama Canal. The bus will be returned to the British Isles after the celebration. Special request by Ashley Cooper, Governor of Hudson’s Bay Company, to Lord Ashfield overcame rulings prohibiting the loan of this British Museum exhibit. This specimen of the famous “B” type bus is the sole survivor, but one, of that fleet of L.G.O.C. buses commandeered as troop carriers. On a single night, on the outbreak of the war, the buses vanished from the streets of London to re-appear in France and Belgium.
