21st. Birthday Happily Celebrated at Beaconsfield

The Schoolroom was * brightly decorated with .lemon and green streamers, dahlias and asters on Saturday evening, when a’ happy party gathored together at tho invitation of Mrs A. 11. Entwisle to mark the coming of age of her daughter, Isla. Mrs Entwisle was dressed in a wine georgette dress with silver trimming and black.'-silk bridge coat, her daugh ter wearing a pretty dress ofgreen silk lace .trimmed. with lemon organdie flowers. Excellent dance numbers were rendered by Miss M. ' Fitzpatrick (piano), Mr A. Wright (piano), Mr, G. Dick (piano- accordion and piano), Mr. G. Fitzpatrick (accordion). . A competion was won by. Mrs G. W. Entwisle after a. cut-off with Miss J. Duncan.

At 9.15 p.m., when the guest joi honour was exactly 21, Mr R. Stuart.proposed her health. After musical honours had been accorded her, Mr A. H. Entwisle responded and presented her with a small gold key. He also proposed the health of Mr Lance Duncan, who that day was also celebrating a birthday. Mr Duncan responded. After tho cako had been cut dancing was continued until a further halt was called in the proceedings for a delicious supper to be served. A humorous interlude was pAivided by station ‘‘2ZBUNK” (an amplifier) in providing a “children’s hour.” An “aunt” and “uncle” made -birthday calls to Miss Entwisle -and Mr Duncan, also calling up - some of tho local “notabilities. ’

Confetti' and streamer dances, also paper hats, added gaiety to tho party. Little Nancy Carnes presented Miss Entwisle with a bouquet, who at a suitable juncture in a happy little speech thanked one and all.-for the happy time she had beon given. A large key, presented to Miss .Entwisle by Mr A. Wright, was autographed by all present. A very happy evening terminated with ,the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Among those dancing were Mrs W. J. Mrs E.-Stuart, tomato zed georgette, trimmed with white flowers; Mrs M. C. Entwisle, green floral uncrushable crepe; Misses J. Hall (Wanganui), scarlet silk crepe; J. Duncan (Feilding), blue laco and georgette; M. Fitzpatrick (Feilding), • figured uncrushable crepe; I. Fitzpatrick'(Feilding), floral crepe; M. Cranston (Kiwitca), blue crinkley crepe; B.
