Grand Concert

IN AID OF LOCAL DISTRESS CASE A grand concert is to be held in the Opera House to-night in aid of a local distress case which is well worthy of attention. A first-class programme will be presented by The Smart Set Entertainers, headed by Chuen Yuen Tai, the Chinese wizard and cartoonist. Chuen Yuen Tai is the only onlnese cartoonist at present in the Southern Hemisphere executing double-handed sketches. On this occasion he will present his farnohs act introducing coloured lightning sketches, double-handed cartoons, velvet pictures, also paperology. His second act will embody Magic of the East, his knowledge of magic being uncanny. Professor Itobson will present a special ventriloquial act, in accimon to a number of character sketches, etc. Master Paul Sinden, the wonderful boy yodeler, will eb heard in a number of solos. The Smart Set Entertainers will be assisted by a strong array of local talent, while Radio Cousins of 2ZO will be heard in song numbers and recitations. There will also be a burlesque by the Aunts and Uncles of 2ZO. Charming dance numbers will be given by the pupils of the Broadway School of Dancing and a splendid and diversified programme is assured. It is hoped that the people of Palmerston North and district will come along in force to enjoy what promises to be a concert of exceptional merit, for their attendance will be assisting a very worthy cause.
