CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT SERIES OPENS On Saturday afternoon tho Cheltenham Rifle Club opened its championship series under good weather conditions and good scores resulted. F. Whitehead and J. C. Williamson each won a silver spoon for scores of 100 or better. The shoot was over ranges of 300, 500 and 600 yards with the following results:— J. C. Williamson, 34, 32, 35—101; F. Whitehead, 33, 35, 33—101; S. Mayhew, 33, 34, 32—99;.5. Barrow, 32, 32, 31— 98; F. Booking, 32, 33, 33 —98; J. Fraser, 32, 34, 3.1—97; J. H. Williamson, 33, 35, 28—96; R. Stuart, 30, 32, 31— V3\ 'V. There will be a sweepstake on the range next Saturday for all not attending the Mangaweka Association’s shoot.
