A fairly intense anti-eyclone ex tends across the Tasman on to New Zealand, but the pressure remained rather low to the eastward. Winds; Southerly, strong at times along the east coast as far north as the Cook Strait area; otherwise moderate.

Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough south of Banks Peninsula and a considerable southerly swell northwards to Castlepoint; rather rough in the South'Taranaki Bight; elsewhere slight to moderate.

Eastern Tasman: Light to moderate south-east to southerly winds, with slight to moderate seas. Weather: For the most part fine but some isolated local showers possible, more especially on the cast coast and in the far north and south.

Temperatures: Cold, with inland frosts. 1
