As Morton- turned' to get it one .of the men attacked-liim and-flung' linu to the ground. Ln tho riieantime, the second bandit ransacked the office for money, but failed to find the cash-box. Morton, recovering from the blows he had - received, seized an axe and ran at the men, who fled. They mounted a motor-cycle, -which they had left outside, and disappeared.
