Nine or ten nominees of the Labour Government will bo appointed to the Legislative Council and the appointments will be made in time to enable the new members to attend the opening of Parliament towards the end of next month, said the Prime Minister to-day. It is impossible at the momeut to givo any indication of the names of the prospective nominees, he contnued, as applications for the appointments run into hundreds and come from all parties. “We have not started yet to sort them out, but it will be necessary to deal with the applications soon,” Mr Savage added.
