Mr and Mrs George Tucker,' of Palmerston North, are spending a holiday at Waiterere beach.

Mrs Maguire, Plimmerton, is staying with her sister, Mrs Cattel, Pharazyn street, Feilding.

Miss Joan Paton, of Church street, left for Auckland last evening and will spend a holiday with relatives at Takapuna.

Mrs W. Gosling, of Auckland, who has been on a brief visit to Peilding. is leaving to-day for Nelson, where she will be the guest of Mrs J. Robertson.

The Wanganui croquet tournament was advanced a further stage on Monday, and it is anticipated that the tournament will conclude to-day. In the championship singles, Mrs R. ;D. Gambrill, of Palmerston North, beat Mrs Richardson, 26—14. Mrs Gambrill and C. Lo Roche were successful against Mesdames Amies and Lynsh, 26 —12, in the semi-final of the champion doubles, but were beaten by W. J. and Mrs Jarvis, 26—11, in the final.
