Decree Absolute Granted in Divorce
Before the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court at Napier Rubina Lillian May Managh, of Napier (Mr. A. E. Lawry), was granted a decree absolute against Robert James Managh, of Halcombe (Mr. I. McGregor), with custody of the child of the marriage. A further petition for permanent alimony was also heard, and his Honour increased the payment to the wife from £1 10s per week to £3 10s per week, remarking that the respondent, who is a farmer, must pay according to his ability. He reserved leave for the petitioner to apply for a further increase if farming conditions improved, and leave for the respondent to apply for a reduction if conditions Should justify it.
