MANAWATU DEFEAT POHANCfINA On Saturday Manawatu and Pohangina completed an association competition match which was interrupted recently by rain. Manawatu won, the scores being as follow: — Men’s singles: Puklowski lost to R. Smart S —lo, McKenzie beat W. Smart 10—8, McGrath beat Roberts 9 —4, Beattie beat Moar 9 —4. Women’s singles: Mrs Campbell beat Miss R. Klink 7 —l, Mrs Holmes lost to Miss N. Klink 2—7, Miss Norris lost to Miss Sinclair 5 —7, Mrs Gold lost to Miss Brewer I—7.1 —7. Men’s doubles: Puklowski and McKenzie lost to Smart and Smart 4 —9, McGrath and Beattie beat Roberts and Moar 9 —5. Women’s doubles: Mesdames Campbell and Holmes beat Misses N. and R. Klink 7 —l, Miss Norris and MrsGold beat Misses Sinclair and Brewer B—6. Mixed doubles: Puklowski and Mrs Campbell beat R. Smart and Miss R. Klink 9 —5, McKenzie and Mrs Holmes beat W. Smart and Miss N. Klink 9 7, McGrath and Miss Norris beat Roberts and Miss Sinclair 9 —3, Beattie and Mrs Gold lost to Moar and Miss Brewer 7 —9. Manawatu: 10 sets, 113 games. Pohangina: 6 sets, 96 games.
