Husbands Wanted

INQUIRIES POURING IN FROM BRITISH GIRLS Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Feb. 22. The wide publicity given to the request of a London girl to the Mayor of Dunedin to find her a husband and the quick response of many young New Zealand men to this call have in turn produced many inquiries from young women in all parts of the Empire, The first batch came recently from nearly every State in Australia, and then the British air-mail brought a further flood of letters, the more enterprising girls evidently being determined to get in early and use the quickest means of communication. The largest batch of letters arrived by ordinary mail yesterday, and contained requests from every part of Britain and Ireland. Wales had the bigggest representation. Almost all feminine occupations were covered, with nurses in the majority. Many of these girls insist that they arc ‘‘true home-lovers, good cooks and fond of housework and children.” It now rests with tho young men—and'young women —of the Dominion to deal with this proposed invasion in such a manner as either sex considers fit.
