Terrific Storm Takes Heavy Toll

DAMAGE RUNS INTO THOUSANDS OF POUNDS

Several persons were injured and one seriously, while thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to houses and crops by a terrific storm which swept a narrow strip of the south coast district of Queensland on Saturday night.

A train from Southport to Brisbane followed in the wake of the storm and 14 hours was occupied in travelling two miles.
