A fine specimen of that rarity in New Zealand natural life, the kiwi, was found quite recently by two Nopier residents, Messrs R. Jacomb and L. Reid, in the course of a pig-hunting expedition in the Mangahaururu Ranges, behind Lake Tutira, about 30 miles north ,of Napier.
