Putt Mossman in Feilding

THRILLS AT JOHNSON PARK. Tho wet weather ou Friday evening did not deter Feilding citizens from attending at Johnston Bark where Putt Alossmau, tho dare-devil dirt-track star, and his sister Dessie Grant, with Pee Wee Cullum, performed to the delight of tho gathering. In conjunction with Putt Mossman the local riders competed in several wheel events but the wet and' slippery nature of the track caused competitors to experience some heavy riding.

Tho programme opened with a onemile cycle race, after which Putt Mossman and his sister Dessie Grant drew applause from the gathering with a few of his daring feats. Pee Wee Cullum performed numerous acrobatic feats to tho delight of everyone, and his demonstrations on his small motor biko wore fully appreciated. I utt Mossman and Pee . Wee Cullum were also associated in an interesting onelap cycle race, the result being a deadheat.

At the conclusion of the meeting Putt Mossman thanked the public for their attendance, stating that the slippery nature of the ground prevented the staging of any more feats during the evening. However, if the weather conditions were satisfactory next Thursday evening at 8 o’clock a full programme, including all his deathdefying stunts would be presented to the public of Feilding. Results of the evening are: — One mile cycle: E. Lamberton (160 yds) 1, N. White (160) 2, A. Eade (140) 3. Ono and a-half miles cycle: B. Lambertpn (210yds) 1, N. Lawson (210) 2, N. White (210) 3. Half mile cycle (junior): E. Batten 1, N. Green 2. Boys’ cycle: A. Grombridge 1, P. Robson 2. Boys’ 100 yards: J. Alarquand 1, J. llurdlo 2. Boys’ 440 yards walk: J. Alarquand 1, D. Boniface 2. King’s race: W. Andrews 3, F. Poola 2, B. Garlick 3. A 100 yards race between Miss P. Oliver and Aliss AI. Kitchen resulted in Miss Oliver reaching the tape first.
