A delay in the maturity of grapes is likely to be marked as a result of the recent storm (says the Auckland Herald).. In the Henderson district many vines were flattened and the long branches badly knocked about. The salt burn on the leaves is expected to affect, the formation of, tho essential grape sugar, and so the actual vt’ o for wine. Another serious aspect of the damage is the fact that vines are often so badly burned that any spraying at present would be a dangerous operation. . ,**-*•:
