A. and P. Association

COMMITTEE MEETS. Tho committee of tlio Feilding A. and P. Association met last evening, Mr H. J. Lancaster (president) presiding. Also present were Messrs L. J. Wild, E. P. C. Swainson, F. J. Boddy, R. 11. Buchanan, P. G. Stevens, J. M. Campbell, P. Whisker, G. M. Moffitt, W. G. Booth, J. Knight, N. J. Short, I). Reid, 1). E. Younger, R. L. Younger, E. M. Hare, W. M. Stewart, B. McLeod, and J. B. Brodley.

Reporting on the recent show, the president said he felt that the storm or Sunday, February 2, had ltept a number of visitors away while it had delinitely prevented certain judges .and exhibitors from participating. Generally speaking the show was entirely successful and he had to thank both exhibitors and stewards for their support and cooperation. He had also to thank the railway officials for their help in facilitating the transport of stock. Mr Lancaster also referred to the exhibit of tho Australian Trade Commissioner which had attracted considerable interest, the Commissioner having expressed himself as being most pleased with the interest shown in the display. Thanks were also due to Mrs A. C. McCorkindale and Mr G. J. Fitzpatrick, stewards in charge of the Women’s Division exhibits which were a feature of the show.

Letters were received from Messrs J. H. P. Liggins (Tokomaru), C. Hay (Masterton), and Q. Donald (Martinborough) regretting inability to act as judges owing to being held up by storm damage. It was reported that the association had been able to secure the services of Messrs G. Burgess (Eongotea), W. M. Stewart (Feilding) and H. Hocken (Feilding) to act as substitutes. The latter were accorded votes of thanks.

Visitors who wero prevented from taking part in the show wrote expressing regret that their plans had been upset by the storm and it was agreed to write expressing sympathy.

Votes of thanks were accorded the pig judges wko had not claimed expenses:—Messrs J. Brice (Marton), F. Mills (Hawera), H. Voss (Longhurn), G. W. Mumford (Levin) and E. A. Earp (Wellington). Twenty-five new members were elected.

The sympathy of the association is to be conveyed to Mr I. G. Easton whoso pony fell during a competition and had to be destroyed.
