Woolworth Heiress Richer
The Countess Kurt vpn Haugwitz Ret ventlow, formerly the Princess (Alexis) Mdivani, formerly Miss Barbara Hutton, the Woolwortli heiress, and already one of the six richest tvomen in the world, becomes richer still. She is ono of five residuary legatees under the will of her former husband, Prince Alexis Mdivani. He left estate in England worth £128,404. He was domiciled in New York, where ho had luxurious apartments on Pifth Avenue, the street of millionaires. Prince Mdivani, who was killed in a road smash in Spain last August, is believed to have left a total fortune of nearly £2,000,000. The world's wealthiest woman is Mrs James H. R. Cromwell, formerly Miss Doris Duke, daughter of the United States tobacco king, with a fortune of £9,000,000. Fifteen-year-old Mildred Yount, daughter of the United States oil king, ow r ns £8,000,000. Lady Yule's fortune is between £8,000,000 and £9,000,000; Lady Houston’s is estimated at £6,000,000; Mrs Macdonald Buchanan, daughter of the late Lord Woolavington, was left by her father nearly £5,000,000. The Duchess of Roxburghlie granddaughter of a Rothschild, is worth £5,000,000 also.
