By Air-liner to Blenheim
FOR A NINETIETH BIRTHDAY Mr E. Bary, headmaster of Central School, is leaving by Union Airways' liner this morning for Blenheim, and will proceed to Renwicktown where his mother will celebrate her 90tli birthday on Monday next. In the party leaving by ’plane will be Mrs Bary, Mr and Mrs J. 0. Gilmour, of Mauricevilio (the last-named his sister), also two other sisters, Mcsdamcs Higgins and Slow, of Hamilton, and a brother, Mr G. Bary, of Hamilton. Other members of the family who are expected to assemble for the party aru Messrs A. Bary (Nelson), John and James Bary (Blenheim), and Mrs Brydon, with whom Mrs Bary, snr., resides. Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, in 1840, Mrs Bary came to New Zealand when a child of 13 in the sailing vessel Mariner, arriving at Pictou, and she has spent the greater part of tier iife in Marlborough. She was married 73 years ago and her husband, the late Mr G. Bary, passed away in 1915. There were 12 children of the marriage, one daughter, Mrs Dowling, being in Australia, while one son died in Wellington about a year ago, and another died in Renwicktown. Mrs Bary enjoys excellent health and retains ail her faculties. Included in the luggage the passengers by plane to-day will carry is a handsome birthday cake, made and iced by Mrs Gilmour, which will bo ornamented with 90 candies. Mr and Mrs Gilmour arrived from Maurieeville yesterday and the Hamilton members arrive this morning. Me and Mrs Bary and Mr and Mrs Gilmour are flying back on Tuesday.
