Mr Parkhill, Federal Defence Minister, referring to the air-mail position, said the negotiations were being conducted through the Prime Minister’s Department and he indicated that Mr Lyons was reluctant to discuss the position in order not to embarrass Imperial Airways in any alternative scheme’ it might submit. Mr Parkhill added that tho question of the Sydney-New Zealand air link was still the subject of negotiations between the respective Governments, and he was unable to make any statement at present.
