Erratic Market at Masterton Ram Fair

Per Press Association. MASTEETON, Last Night. A supply far exceeding the demand tended to make the market at the Masterton ram fair one of the most erratic for years. There was a large and representative bench of buyers who were prepared'to pay good money for good sheep. A fair proportion of the offering consisted of inferior animals which failed to attract. Taken right through prices for flock Romneys hardly came up to those of last year. The top price for flock Romneys was IS guineas, as compared with 21 guineas last year. The demand for the limited supply of stud Romneys was fairly good. The top price was 90 guineas paid by P. Wall, of Hatuma, for a ram offered on account of Sir William Perry. Sir William also secured 55 and 50 guineas. Last year 50 guineas was the highest price for stud Romneys.
