TEAMS FOR SATURDAY The following rinks will represent the Palmerston North Bowling Club in friendly games with the Oroua Bowling Club to bo held on the Palmerston Green next Saturday:—Muir, Watson, Arnott, Northover (skip); Croad, Cowling, Ferguson, P. Club Championship. llie Palmerston North club championship singles were brought to a close this week, when Ramsay beat Arnott by one poiut after a most even and interesting game, with Arnott leading most of the way. At the 20th head ho was three points up. In the last head Itamsay was lying two shots when Arnott, playing his last bowl, trailed the kitty for the shot, which was some distance away. Ramsay, after inspecting the head, could see four shots and the game by wresting Arnott’s shot, which he did with remarkable accuracy. Visit to Wellington. Although the annual bowling match between Wellington and Manawatu could not be played at the Capital city this week owing to the adverse weather conditions, the IG rinks that left Palmerston North spent an enjoyable day there. Arrangements were made for tho party' to bo entertained at a musical afternoon at the Wellington Club's pavilion. In the absence of tho president of the Wellington Centre, Mr Stono expressed regret at the inclement state of the weather, adding that tho Wellington bowlers were looking forward to their trip to Palmerston North, when it was hoped that better conditions would prevail. Mr J. A. Nash, president of tho Manawatu Centre, thanked tho Wellington Centre for the hospitality which had been extended to the visitors. The trip to Wellington was one -which the Manawatu bowlers always looked forward to, the speaker adding that there was always a surplus of names of players desiring to mako the trip. While disappointed that day, it was the first occasion in all the years that tho annual visits had been held, that play had had to be abandoned, .and all would now look forward to tho .visit of tho Wellington Centre to tho Manawatu.
