Feilding Golf Club

ANNUAL REPORT The thirty-first annual report of the Feilding Golf Club records a difficult year, when the course was subjected to a severe flood which did rather serious damage. The links, however, are now in excellent order and the 18-hole layout should bo available for play in about two months’ time. Owing to the flood damage a slight curtailment of the original lay-out has been found necessary, but this alteration will not materially interfere with the plan provided by Mr Redhead. In connection with the new work and the maintenance of the club’s property, the committee wishes to place on record its siucero appreciation of the conscientious work of tho custodian, Mr H. Wilson. Tho committee further desires to record its gratitude to Mr R. L. Harding for his valuable assistance and advice in carrying out the work of making the new lay-out. The usual competitions were held during the year with tho addition of a silver jubilee tournament held to mark tho 25th anniversary of the reign of his late Majesty King George V. Tho club was successful in the match against Dannevirko club for the Gra-ham-Chadwick cup. Club championships.—Men: Senior, J. B. Duthie; junior, A. C. McCorkindale. Women: Senior, Mrs E. Fair; junior, Miss D. Sargisson. Brown cup: Men, C. J. Stichbury; women, Mrs E. Fair.

The committee once again expresses its sincere appreciation of tho wonderful help received from tho ladies’ committee in the provision of afternoon teas and in taking charge of the luncheon, arrangements on the occasion of visiting teams. Under the rules Messrs W. E. Carthew and L. J. Carmine retire from the committee, but are eligible for reelection. These vacancies with other official positions will be required to be filled at the annual meeting. Mr A. H. Maguire, the club’s auditor, is also eligible for ree-lection.
