Flying Display at Milson

TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS FOR WEDNESDAY Arrangements have been made with the Palmerston North City Council and Kairanga County Council for the efficient handling of traffic to the aerodromo on tho occasion of the flying display by the Manawatu Aero Club, and the official opening of Union Airways’ trunk service on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. Parking accommodation for 3500 cars has been provided on the new portion of the aerodrome. Entrance to the parking area is from Setter’s line. Traffic from tho city will proceed via Featherstone street, Vogel street and Boundary road. No traffic will be allowed via Ruahine street ou account of tho hospital patients being disturbed by noise. As the new road into the aerodrome is not completed, no car traffic will proceed via Milson line and McKenzie’s road, but pedestrians may use this entrance.

From the country traffic will proceed via Milson’s line to Boundary road, and thus into Setter’s line. Prom Peilding via Bunnythorpe cars will follow the railway to Boundary road, and thus into Setter’s line. No traffic will proceed via Richardson’s line to tho aerodrome. As ample free parking .space is provided, there will be no parking allowed on Setter’s line.

If the public will take particular note of these arrangements, thero should be no traffic difficulties such as was experienced on the occasion of Squadron-Leader McGregor’s return from the air race. Provision has been made to allow two lines of cars to enter the parking area together with capable men supervising the parking in double rows a chain apart so that no congestion should occur there. The christening ceremony will be performed by Hon. F. Jones in front of Union Airways’ new hangar and the first ’plane will leave immediately for Dunedin and immediately afterwards the flying display will be carried out while the remaining two airliners will take passenger flights. Given good weather the public will be treated to an entertaining and thrilling afternoon, including four parachute descents.
